Mezcalosfera | Espadín - Mexicano | 500ml | 2021

Julio Vasquez is fourth generation mezcal producer, his family in Miahuatlán district is well know for their passion and commitment for their craft. His uncles and nephews are mezcal producers. Despite his 68 years of age, he is very active in the process and enjoy planting and harvesting his agaves for his own production. His favourite expression to drink is Arroqueño. One distillation with copper with condenser and final product is just the heart "cord".

PRODUCTION NOTES:

  • Made by Maestro Julio Vasquez
  • Espadín (Agave angustifolia 5-9 years) and Mexicano (Agave rhodacantha 20-27 years)
  • Mengoli de Morelos, Miahuatlán, Oaxaca, Mexico - located 1550 and 1650 meters above sea level
  • Roasted in truncated conical earthen oven 
  • Stone wheel crushed 
  • Fermented in open-air sabino barrels with natural yeast using well water 
  • 1 distillation with condenser 
  • 49% ABV
  • 80 liters produced
